Living with other athletes, even from completely different sports, has honestly been one of the best parts of college.
For the past three years, we’ve all had different schedules, different seasons, and different routines, but somehow it’s always worked. One roommate is leaving for practice while another is getting back from a game, someone’s packing for a road trip, and someone else is passed out on the couch after lifts. It’s chaotic sometimes, but it’s our kind of chaos.
Even though we compete in different sports, we all understand each other in the same way. We understand the stress, the exhaustion, the pressure, and the time commitment that comes with being an athlete. Nobody has to explain why they’re tired, overwhelmed, sore, or stressed, everyone just gets it.
The best part is all the little moments that become memories without even realizing it at the time. Late-night talks in the kitchen, random music and dance parties, getting ready together before going out, sharing clothes, celebrating wins, and laughing over absolutely nothing until everyone’s crying. Somehow even the stressful moments become funny stories later.
Over the last three years, we’ve seen each other through injuries, tough losses, relationship drama, school stress, and some of the best moments of college too. We’ve grown up together in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived it.
Now, with only one year left together, it’s starting to hit how special this time really is. One more year of game days, roommate dinners, chaotic mornings, and all the little moments that have made this place feel like home.
At this point, they feel more like sisters than roommates.
College sports go by fast, but the people you share those years with are what make the experience unforgettable. Years from now, we’ll probably forget some scores and stats, but we’ll never forget this apartment, these memories, and the life we built together.
